Break Through for Ruby Miner

The Greenlandic company, Greenland Ruby is nearing its first sale of rubies till two international designers and has started a corporation with the international recognized Danish Jewelry brand Shamballa Jewels.

In the autumn 2014 construction works for infrastructure at the Aappaluttoq ruby mine began and since then huge investments has been put in the mining project which has been in production since May 2017. In the past months Greenland Ruby has been in dialogue with many potential customers and this work is now showing results and in a short while the first contracts and sale of rubies will be a reality.

• It has been a magical and inspiring visit to the ruby mine and Nuuk. To follow the ruby production in all stages from blasting, trucking with huge equipment and follow the rocks through all process and sorting stages all the way to the small pebbles of ruby that we use in our microscope pave setting work is such an eye opener.
